Wow, I'm in shock....I just took a look at a picture of Aiden from the front that was taken before the jaw distraction started...and I CANNOT believe the difference!!!!! It's not till I put them side by side that I saw the amazing transformation. UNbelievable!! I just made you want to scroll straight down to the bottom...didn't I?...go ahead...I don't blame you. You wont miss much if you do.
Aiden slept nice and late...our nurse today was Chandra...she was one of Aiden's regular nurses back in the day. But she hasn't seen him since BEFORE his craniotomy, so I was excited to see what she thought. Unfortunately...Aiden didn't remember her at all, but I wasn't surprised. Juan did the pin turning right away and Aiden pretty much woke up after that. Her took a look at Chandra and had no idea who she was, and right away..he got upset. We brought out the 'Thomas the Train' DVD and that seemed to work. He calmed down pretty quickly. Enough for me to go off to bed thinking all would be well. I knew she was only working till 1pm. Chrissy, Aiden's new nurse, was going to come at 1pm and work till 5pm. I was at ease with that, too. I slept like a ROCK!! I woke up around 3pm...I was still soooo sleepy. After I finally woke up a little bit more, I headed outside. Chrissy, Aiden's nurse, was driving Aiden around in his little red car...that was music to my ears. I was disappointed, though, to find out that Aiden pretty much cried ALL morning while Chandra was here. It's NOT her fault...he just couldn't warm up to her. He needs someone who is animated and fun....someone who will get down on the floor and be silly with him...Chandra is quiet and subdued...which is fine in itself. But Aiden wasn't having it!! Every time Juan would try to hand him to her, he would freak. So, basically, Juan had to stay there with them the whole morning...except when Juan took Ivan to the doctor for his physical. Once I woke up, Juan looked beyond exhausted. He went into the room and took a nap. POOR JUAN! So, Chrissy and I (ugh...the same name thing is going to be rough...) played with Aiden. He was a happy camper. I did disappear for a quick shower, though. I only had 25 minutes to do that...and with Juan sleeping, I had to seize the moment. Even when I left and came back...Aiden was fine. He really likes Chrissy. That makes me very happy!
Once Chrissy left at 5pm....Juan was up. We decided to order a pizza from Danny's....it's soooo good. Then we went upstairs because his cousin came by with some Coach bags from California...and I just looked and fondled them. I was thankful they didn't have a green one...I wouldn't have been able to resist. I then went downstairs and got things in order til Juan had to go pick up the pizza. I was STARVING!! Aiden and I played and played while I waited for the pizza. He's such a silly Luv Muffin. I still can't get over how different he looks....especially when he smiles! Once got home...after I did my happy dance (in my head), we sat down and ate while Aiden amused himself. Suddenly he begged papa to pick him up so he could take a nap. UGHHHHHH! SO LATE!!! I knew we were in trouble...he basically fell asleep til 9pm. But, how do you keep a baby up??? I guess he didn't sleep well earlier in the day. We traded him off a few times. Juan held him...I held him...and then I pretty much fed him as he slept in Juan's arms. We tried to make noise to try to wake him up. I slept through EVERY thing.
When he finally woke up, Juan took him upstairs to see Veronica and Karla and Grandma while I did laundry and what not. I even vacuumed. It's been disgustingly long since I've been able to do that. The rest of the night was play play play. It wasn't till 12:20am that we moved into the bedroom to get him ready for bed. Then we did our 'Thomas the Train' ritual and after an hour, he fell asleep. It was more like 2am. Just as I thought. So...our day was pretty lazy and uneventful...but that just fine with me! Good night everyone!
