I woke up around 3pm...did my usual routine...and got into the shower right away. Tina was leaving at 4pm instead of 5pm...I didn't want to leave Juan alone for too long. When I got into the living room, Aiden was in the middle of his dinner. Juan told me that Aiden threw up once today and that he didn't want to go back to sleep after the 'pin turning'. Poor Aiden. The two incidents were unrelated, though. Then suddenly, Aiden started to do the 'baby crocodile' sound that he always does when he is trying not to throw up. Then he did...it was a big one! He was sooooo upset, and we couldn't calm him down. Once we thought it was safe, we gave him an early bath. I'm sure that felt good. We also did his 'care' early...which he does NOT enjoy ONE bit. Cleaning around the pins seems to be painful for him. Then I sat on the couch witih him in my arms and I sang to him. He was EXHAUSTED! Not only did he not have his usual nap...he just had a rough day. He fell asleep in my arms for a good 1/2 or so...but the frustrating thing was there was a LOT of secretions (from his trache) and it was the stretchy, clear kind. So I had to suction him often, and I think that angered him. Also, I think he threw up his Tylenol earlier before it had time to desolve and get into his system...so he may have been hurting. He started to squirm and cry, so I called Juan down to get some help...and we decided it was time for some Motrin. I followed that with a PediaSure chaser....then the 'baby crocodile' sounds started coming. NO!!! Did I give him too much, too fast???? We decided maybe a change of scenery might distract him so we brought him upstairs and out on the back balcony. That actually worked!! The one thing that snapped him out of it was hearing Karla...his 4 month old cousin. His happy-go-lucky self came back pretty quickly! The third throw up disaster was averted. WHEW!!! Thank goodness. He was smiling and happy...back to his usual self. At one point I tested him on the new sign I taught him last night, which was 'Dog' (and that's patting your leg as if you are calling a dog). So I asked him "what's the sign for puppy?", and he did the sign....then we realized that he was pointing to Pikachu...the little Chuhuahua! Whoa! He impressed me!!! But really got me was....I taught him the sign with the word DOG only....not the word PUPPY....he totally connected the dots. Yep...we gotta start that 'swear jar'...PRONTO! I couldn't believe it...I am one proud mama. I enjoy watching him learn. Then he chased Murphy around...pointing at him like he was trying to show me another puppy. Quickly the tables were turned... Murphy started chasing Aiden. I think Aiden's feet are so chunky, Murphy wants to try them out as chew toys. Teehee!
Oh boy...hope no one tried to read my blog before I finished upload pics and video...Aiden woke up at 5am unable to sleep. He stood up and wanted to be in our bed. At first...he tried to sleep...but he kept having that 'stretchy' phlegm. It is such a pest! He finally just woke up and started clapping his hands. That's how I know he's ready to play. He actually started climbing on papa who WAS sound asleep. We knew exactly what he wanted....THOMAS THE TRAIN...and we obliged! So I laid in bed with Aiden and watched Thomas and Friends for an hour and a 1/2. I must admit, I enjoyed every minute of it! I must ALSO admit that I was glad when Sandy, his nurse, arrived at 7am. I believe Aiden was just as glad to see her because he pretty much fell alseep in her arms 5 minutes after she arrived. Juan and I sat in the living room and chatted a bit Sandy, we played with Murphy and then I came in the bedroom to finish my blog. All I need to do is upload the videos. Now I shall bid you adieu! Don't forget to check out the before and after pictures and videos down below!
I can see the little difference already.
